Bio-Bauernhof Forchner
Admont
The Forchnerhof was mentioned in documents as early as 1250. It is located in Frauenberg an der Enns, at the foot of the pilgrimage church of the same name, and has been in the family for many generations. The farm is managed by Florian Wölger and is the central meeting place of a large extended family.
The land includes meadows that are used extensively - in line with nature conservation goals. A small herd of suckler cows grazes around the farm buildings. Wool and meat sheep graze in meadow orchards or on the mountain pasture in summer.
Red deer and the David deer (www.davidshirsch.at), long extinct in the wild, also live at Forchnerhof. As a certified organic farm, we offer game and game products, lamb and noble brandies in direct sales.
One focus at the Forchner is forestry. We are a proSilva member, practise near-natural silviculture and try to restore the habitat of silver fir, which has been pushed back.
