The Austrian Brass Music Museum in Oberwölz was opened in 1997 and presents objects from the history of Austrian brass music, which has been one of the largest movements in amateur music since the 19th century, in addition to the military music tradition, in new showrooms and two to three special exhibition rooms on approx. 600m² has developed. Over 2100 brass bands form a flourishing present of over 150 years of development.

The permanent exhibition shows exhibits on the history of brass music in Austria from the 19th century to the present day. A sound and picture show offers an overview of the history "From classical harmony music to contemporary brass band music". For younger museum visitors: fun and games at the museum rally. Special exhibitions: Brass music attracts. A traditional sound from yesterday to today and special exhibition: Women, brass band music and voluntary work.
