Podol circular hike

The Dürnberger Moor is one of the most beautiful excursion destinations in the nature park. The freely accessible observation tower offers a comprehensive overview of the wetland biotope.
The Podolerte pond, hidden in a high forest, is ideal for swimming in summer and is still a lonely and idyllic place at any time of the year. The Dürnberger Moor is a witness to the Ice Age and gives us interesting insights into its sensitive habitat. Rare animals and plants, such as the carnivorous sundew, have their home here. From the observation tower we have a wonderful overview of the moor and its landscapes.

In the Oberdorf settlement area there is a sign pointing to the moor nature trail. You go from the edge of the moor to the middle, where a long "soul path" provides access to the observation tower. You walk past the Dürnberger farmstead, through the forest and over an asphalt road to the Podoler farmstead, where you reach the Podolerteich pond through the forest. Forest and field paths lead back to the Thanner homestead, the slightly longer loop leads back to Oberdorf via the Muhr homestead.
