Route planner
- Our hiking route begins at the former Jägerwirt inn in Mortantsch. From there, after a few metres, we head south to the left up to the Saurucken. This is the only ascent on the hike through the small Raabklamm gorge.
- After about 300 m, we then go back down to the right along the road towards the river. Through a beautiful forest and along a field we hike parallel to the Raab for about 1.2 km until we come to the Stoffmühle, where there is a large free car park and a popular entry point.
- From there we continue on easy paths along the course of the river until we reach the Wünschbach bridge after about 2.5 km. There we can turn left and march through the Bärental valley into the town of Weiz, or continue straight ahead through the small Raabklamm gorge.
- Just one kilometre further on, we reach Oberdorf and thus the end of the gorge. Here we also find a free car park and a popular entry point.
Pack a picnic basket and linger at one of the great spots along the Raab and enjoy nature. When the temperatures are warm, there are plenty of places to cool off and splash around.
Free parking is available at Gasthof Jägerwirt, the municipal office in Mitterdorf, in Oberdorf and at the Stoffmühle.
