Gleinstätten is located in the centre of the Sulm Valley directly on the Styrian Wine Country Cycling Tour and is the gateway to the Southern Styria Nature Park. The town invites you to linger and relax, whether in the spacious castle park with its art objects of the LandArt project and the 'Mythenreich' [realm of myths] as well as in the castle meadow with its diversity of animals and plants around the magnificent castle or at the campsite of the natural swimming pond.
The route adventurously leads via the Sulm Valley cycling path and the Weißen Sulm cycling path to Gleinstätten where restaurants and wine taverns invite you to enjoy regional specialities. A hike over the Sausal range of hills past the Theresienkapelle amidst vineyards with a magnificent view of the Sulm Valley or a prehistoric hike to the burial grounds of the Burgstallkogel hill make the heart of any visitor beat faster.
Gleinstätten has a lively cultural scene. In addition to many folk culture events, especially the "Zeggern" which gives an insight into life in the Sulm Valley, there are also the castle concerts in the covered inner courtyard of the Renaissance castle, which are among the most prestigious classical music events in Styria.
