Preber, Zirbitzkogel, Kreischberg, Greim, Grebenzen, Frauenalpe, Lachtaler Zinken, Kornock - a total of eight peaks are among the most striking mountains in the region, inviting you to experience nature in a variety of ways from spring to winter.
The routes up the peaks are just as varied as the peaks themselves. There is a choice of leisurely hikes as well as challenging tours that will make the hearts of true mountain enthusiasts beat faster. The Via Natura, which leads over 130 kilometres and in ten stages through the Zirbitzkogel-Grebenzen Nature Park, offers extensive long-distance hiking pleasure.
In winter, the towering mountain giants are transformed into a winter sports paradise. Skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing - there are no limits to an eventful day. The atmosphere is comparatively tranquil for gentle winter sports such as ski touring or winter hiking. Away from the hustle and bustle on the slopes, the winter landscape can be discovered in a relaxed manner.
Those who prefer to be active in the valley during the cold season can take advantage of the generous cross-country skiing offer with 20 trails and thus a 170-kilometre network of trails. These include some routes that have been awarded the Styrian cross-country ski trail seal of approval.
