    The right equipment for cycling

    • A fully equipped bicycle and a lightweight, well-ventilated helmet are important.
    • The bicycle needs to have two independent brakes.
    • The pedals must be non-slip and equipped with reflectors.
    • A bell should be attached to the handlebars.
    • A bright bicycle light should be installed at the front, a red rear light at the back of the bike. Yellow spoke reflectors are recommended as well.
    • A water bottle and air pump are just as much part of the basic equipment as good shoes and windproof – preferably reflective – clothing.

    Special equipment for mountain bikers

    • A helmet is a must for every mountain bike tour!
    • Sports goggles ensure optimal vision and protect your eyes.
    • The right dress code for mountain biking includes functional cycling shorts and a jersey. The following applies: the tighter, the more race-oriented. In spring and autumn, you shouldn’t forget to bring a jacket. You might get cold, especially during the descent.
    • Your shoes should match the bike! Some mountain bikers prefer clipless pedals for the best possible power transfer.
    • The faster you go, the more important it is to have appropriate protective gear. For this reason, we recommend wearing gloves and protectors.
    • A backpack is especially important for tours lasting several hours. It has enough space for a first aid kit, a repair kit, bad weather clothing, snacks and drinks. Some backpacks even come with an integrated back protector or a hydration system.

    • Appropriate self-assessment of your skills and fitness level is necessary in any sport to avoid accidents and injuries.
    • Please observe the safety signs along the route!
    • Before each tour, your mountain bike should be checked to ensure that all parts are fully functional and in optimum condition!
